Earth is facing huge problems nowadays for many reasons.  But the most important is environmental pollution which is causing the death of the Planet Earth.

A lot of facts are involved in environmental pollution such as Air Pollution, Noise Pollution, Water Pollution, Soil Pollution (Garbage Pollution), Radioactive Pollution and Light pollution.

Knowingly or unknowingly we are taking part to increase global warming and pollution. Loudspeakers, the smoke of vehicles and industries, heavy lights and radioactive rays, by wasting toxic chemicals into the water and by throwing tons of plastic bags, bottles and other materials.

Now we are talking about plastic. No one would like if someone makes his house dirty where he used to live then why we are making our earth dirty where we are all living.

We all know that plastic is destroying the soil of earth badly but it is our daily need to use it especially in the shape of water bottles. We are discovering or inventing a sustainable alternative to make our life easier and to fulfil our requirements and needs.

This is true for an athlete to perform well he requires a good amount of water to avoid dehydration. Marathon is such an example of this where hundreds and thousands of athletes perform and also there is hundreds and thousands of people are present there to support and encourage them.

But after such an event a huge amount of plastic bags and water bottles are left to be disposed of.

London Marathon is working on reduce the plastic waste that we create.

Generally, the marathon routs are full of empty plastic bottles & bags but it was different for the year 2019. The organizers of the race decided to set a green precedent “Precedent is a decision which is the reason for the future decision”.

They handed over the eatable water balls which are manufactured by the seaweeds extracts to the participants of the marathon instead of water bottles.

The purpose of this initiative is to meet the requirements to fulfil the demand of dehydration of the participants as well as to avoid the plastic pollution. This spectacular idea born in the U.K base laboratory named “Skipping Rock Lab.

They named the product is Ooho! Water sachets. These sachets are edible & drinkable. If anyone doesn’t want to consume the casing then he can through it to anywhere and it will decompose.

With the marathon, the company achieve a milestone for this product and the founder told CNN in an interview that they are looking forward to the future now.

Unfortunately, the marathon was not 100% plastic free because still there were water bottles shops present on the routes of the marathon.

But they ensured that with the green precedent they would make sure that all the plastic bottles used in the marathon would be recycled in a useful and alternate manner.
